Four Game Winning Strategies
When faced with challenges and opportunities the following strategies can make the difference between winning and losing. Consider how they apply to your situation.
BELIEF
Belief is the most crucial game winner because if you do not believe you will achieve, overcome or succeed, you will probably be right. Belief is the lightning rod, the catalyst for all that follows. Truly, truly believe and you will have a better chance of succeeding. Positive attitude is everything.
WINNING MENTALITY
A winning mentality is a mindset of “I can do this”, and “Nothing is impossible”. With a winning mentality you are ready to sign up for whatever challenge or opportunity you are faced with. With a winning mentality comes the commitment to persevere. People with winning mentalities maintain focus and do not allow distractions when faced with a challenge or opportunity. Look at the people you consider winners or champions. For me Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers comes to mind. In the recent NBA finals if you saw Kobe’s face, you could feel the desire to win. It was intense and so obvious for the eye to see. His concentration and body language said only one thing: winning. You can’t allow any distractions or negative thoughts as you face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities.
COURAGE
It takes courage to make changes, to go against the crowd, to challenge the status quo. To be a game winner you have to be a game changer and be bold. Winning means taking risk and getting out of your comfort zone. That, takes courage, amazing courage. It is all about, how much do you want it?. To some of you reading this, this may sound like an odd strategy, to me it’s a no brainer and fits perfectly at number 3.
THE FINISH LINE
Some would say there is no finish line and I would agree you never rest on your laurels, but you must have a vision of where you want to go, what the end game looks like, and keep this in front of you all the time. Map it out. What do you really want to achieve? What’s the reward for the risk? I devote the last chapter in my best selling book Success Is Not A Spectator Sport to crossing the finish line. Do it on your terms and have no regrets.
Take on your challenges, take advantage of those opportunities. Do it for you, and let me know when you get there. Good luck.
